Launching a capsule collection of phygital garments in collaboration with Seamm, a revolutionary platform where the future of fashion unfolds in a harmonious blend of the physical and digital realms; it’s a gateway to experiencing fashion in an unprecedented way.
“Waste Not” x London Fashion Week February 2023 at The Museum of the Home
An Exhibition by Anciela, as part of the London Fashion Week City-Wide Celebration at the Museum of the Home in Hackney. The spectator was invited to reflect and actively participate in the installation by adding their own textile remnants to the main piece. All visitors became part of the collective creative process.
The fashion industry generates a vast amount of pre-consumer waste, which is the excess material left over during the making of a garment. Anciela is determined to tackle this problem by managing its own impact in the design and production stages within its supply chain. As the founder, Jennifer Droguett shares: “It’s clear that we can only solve a problem if we see it, and we must be responsible for the impact of our waste within our practices.”
The display was accompanied by workshops, videos and conversations about sustainability and upcycling in Fashion, including a conversation with Orsola De Castro, author of “Loved Clothes Last” and co-founder of Fashion Revolution.
Anciela x Trash Club at City Wide London Fashion Week, September 2023 at Alma Pearl Gallery
Anciela teamed up with Trash Club to host her very first “Trash Talk”, a weekly talk where designers and artists from all backgrounds support each other’s professional growth and holistic well-being through discussions surrounding systemic change, sustainable practices and mindfulness. Piarve Wetshi, Matthew Needham, Rahemur Rahman & Araceli Gómez Castro were guest speakers. Anciela exhibited some of her new Spring Summer 24 pieces along with the work of fellow Colombian artist Jhonatan Pulido.
Mural Night x VaneMG at the Royal Sovereign
Celebrating Colombian artist Vanemg and the mural she created inspired by our latest Collection “Ode to the Papaya” featuring portraits of legendary Latin music divas: Carmen Miranda, Celia Cruz and the electrifying La Lupe.
An intimate night including conversations about this beautiful project, art, videos, and live music by the incredible British/Colombian singer Stephanie Santiago accompanied by Andres Pascua and a DJ set by Chilean/South African artist Auka (Viva Msimang)
Charity event at the Trampery Fish Island Gallery
An interactive event promoting sustainable and circular design to create more awareness about the impact of Fashion and encourage people to adopt more sustainable practices. Including a workshop, a special display of some of Anciela’s pieces and an intimate talk with Sustainable Designer Lydia Bolton. All proceeds went to the Friends of Colombia for Social Aid (FOCSA) Charity. The mission is to help improve the lives of the most disadvantaged children in Colombia by donating medical, educational and other necessary equipment to hospitals and other institutions that have been set up to help these children.
Conscious shopping and Sustainable Fashion Workshop: Empowering the consumer in an era of greenwashing and climate emergency
A transparent guide to conscious shopping and sustainable Fashion, providing basic knowledge of how clothes are made from fibre to garment to help you make more mindful decisions. Hosted by Founder and Creative Director of Anciela, Jennifer Droguett, this online workshop is aimed at raising money for the Royal Free Charity as part of her London marathon fundraiser.
The Royal Free Charity supports our hospitals, NHS workers, patients and researchers. “From small acts of kindness to huge investments in discovery and innovation, everything we do changes lives for the better”
Back in 2020, Jennifer was part of the emergency sewing team for the charity where I made hundreds of PPE gowns for the NHS after I collected the medical textile waste and upcycled it into new pieces for my Fashion Label, Anciela.
